We are delighted to welcome Alex Sarama to the Academy, joining directly from the NBA where he served as Associate Manager of Basketball Operations for Europe & Middle-East. During his three years with the NBA, Alex directed over 100+ clinics and camps in 36 countries and 4 continents around the world. He has worked and directed clinics and camps alongside some of the world’s best such as Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Ricky Rubio, Nikola Jokic and many more.

In Alex’s new role as Technical Director of the program, he will have oversight over all age-groups and work with players of all ages within the Academy. In particular, he will focus on coach development as well as acting as Head Coach of our U16 and U18 Boys Teams, both of whom play in the highest division in Belgium.

Alex is looking forward to the new challenge:

I’m really excited to be teaming up with Joerik Michiels, Olivier Goetgeluck and the rest of the Elite Academy Staff. I can’t wait to develop the Academy into a globally renowned program, working to provide the best possible program to fulfil the potential of young players in both Belgium and beyond.
